Formed in 2015, McMahon Morrison Watts is an association of lawyers who practice labour and employment law, representing unions and employees in all matters related to the workplace. Our advocacy for Ontario’s workers regularly takes us to provincial and federal labour relations boards, arbitration hearings, the Human Rights Tribunal and the courtroom.
We are committed and strong advocates for employees in all fields of work and strive to resolve all matters in the most effective and efficient way possible. We have extensive experience engaging in negotiations and mediations in order to resolve a variety of workplace disputes, and we are also well-equipped to pursue litigation before administrative tribunals and the courts in order to achieve the best possible results for our clients.
Our experienced lawyers include Joanne McMahon, with more than a decade of experience as a partner at a leading labour law boutique in Hamilton; Georgina Watts, former senior legal counsel to the largest private sector union in Ontario; and Craig Morrison, a former partner with an Ottawa-based union side labour law firm. Combined, we have in excess of seventy years’ experience advocating for unions and their members, as well as individual employees.
Erin Buchner and Erin Hallock joined us in 2011, while Fathima Cader and Brittany Ross-Fichtner came to the Toronto office in 2017.
Our areas of expertise include:
- Employment law: Representing employees who have been terminated from their employment, either due to restructuring or alleged misconduct.
- Human rights: Representing individuals who have experienced discrimination.
- Labour law: Representing trade unions before the Ontario Labour Relations Board, Canada Industrial Relations Board, and the courts.
