Thomas Goetz – Articling Student

Biography

Thomas Goetz (they/he) is a graduate of Queen’s University’s Faculty of Law who is interested in using the law to shape a more just and equitable society.

While at Queen’s, Thomas was President of OutLaw, a club run by and for 2SLGBTQ+ law students. They also completed a placement with Pro Bono Students Canada, an internship at the HIV/AIDS Legal Clinic of Ontario (HALCO), and represented Queen’s at the Julius Alexander Isaac Moot, an annual competitive Moot addressing issues of anti-racism and equity held at the Ontario Court of Appeal.

Upon graduating from Queen’s, Thomas received a Dean’s Council Diversity Award for substantial contributions to diversity-related issues while in law school.

Prior to his legal studies, Thomas studied Social Work at York University and holds a Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance from Sheridan College. When not working, you can find Thomas making music, hitting the gym, or spending time with family, friends, and his cats, Yugi and Jinkx.
