
Biography
Thomas Goetz (they/he) is an associate at Morrison Watts Hurtado practising union-side labour and employment law with a deep-rooted passion for social justice and advocating for marginalized voices.
Thomas was called to the Bar in 2025 after completing their articles with the firm, where they appeared before the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Small Claims Court and private arbitrators.
Thomas graduated from Queen’s University Faculty of Law in 2024, receiving a Dean’s Council Diversity Award for substantial contributions to diversity-related issues. At Queen’s, Thomas served as President of OutLaw, a club run by and for 2SLGBTQ+ law students, completed a placement with Pro Bono Students Canada, an internship with the HIV/AIDS Legal Clinic of Ontario (HALCO), and represented Queen’s at the Julius Alexander Isaac Moot, an annual competitive Moot addressing issues of anti-racism and equity held at the Ontario Court of Appeal.
Prior to his legal studies, Thomas studied Social Work at York University and holds a Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance from Sheridan College. When not working, you can find Thomas making music, hitting the gym, or spending time with family, friends, and his cats, Yugi and Jinkx. .
