Payton Mikrogianakis – Labour, Human rights, Employment Lawyer

Biography

Payton Mikrogianakis joined Morrison Watts Hurtado in 2025 as an associate lawyer and practices labour law, employment law and litigation, human rights law, and professional regulation and discipline.

Payton holds a Bachelor of Knowledge Integration from the University of Waterloo where she studied global environmental policy and design. Payton obtained her J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2024 and was called to the Bar in 2025. In law school, Payton worked as a caseworker at Parkdale Community Legal Services, where she represented low-income individuals with disabilities before the Social Benefit Tribunal, volunteered with the Workers’ Action Centre, and held the role of shop steward with OPSEU Local 525. Following law school, Payton articled at a prominent Toronto union-side labour firm where she worked on various labour, employment, and human rights matters, and worked for a prominent public-sector trade union.

Outside of her legal work, Payton is committed to social advocacy. She is a proud member of ACORN London, and the Workers Arts and Heritage Centre Youth Council. In her free time, Payton enjoys reading, running, Greek folk dancing, and horseback riding.
